CAN, the Christian Association of Nigeria, is demanding justice following an incident involving a 40-year-old man named Hassan Yahaya from Katsina state who sleeps with a married woman inside a Church in Jema’a LGA.
Yahaya enticed a 25-year-old married woman named Grace who is said to be married to one Nehemiah Dangana were caught engaging in a sexual activity inside First ECWA Church, Gidan Waya, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The perpetrator, a Muslim, was caught in the act inside the church on the evening of Thursday, June 29, 2023. Reverend John Joseph Hayab, the chairman of Kaduna State CAN, expressed his immediate concern and alerted the authorities to prevent any potential vigilante actions that could disrupt the peace.
As law-abiding citizens, the CAN intends to ensure that the perpetrator faces the full consequences of the law. Reverend Hayab affirmed their commitment to pursuing the case through legal means to ensure justice is served. This approach is aimed at fostering mutual understanding and discouraging others from engaging in similar acts that could disrupt society.
The police were promptly notified, and the suspect was apprehended for thorough interrogation regarding his motives for committing such an act within a place of worship.
Unfortunately, as of the time of filing this report, there has been no response from DSP Mohammed Jalige, the spokesman of the Kaduna State Police Command, despite multiple attempts to reach him via calls and text messages.
