The President of ECWA, Rev. (Dr) Stephen Panya Baba on Monday, 26th June, 2023 commissioned an entrepreneurship centre built by Prof. W.B Qurix, the Board Chairman of ECWA Seminary Staff School, Kagoro (Kaduna State) who is also the Vice Chancellor of Bingham University.

The Principal of ECWA Seminary Staff School, Kagoro (ESSSK) Pastor Gado Ibrahim in his speech gave God the glory for using Prof. Qurix to help the school as the Board Chairman. He stated that:
“God in His divine Providence made this vision possible by raising a philanthropist in person of Prof. W. B Qurix to fund the project with the sum of N2.3 million… purchased three computers, two sewing machines, two driers, three tables, three stools, one chair and a printer” hence, the naming of the Centre as ‘Prof. W.B Qurix Entrepreneurship Centre’. Pastor Gado Ibrahim also gave kudos to some staff of the school for donating N350,000 to support the centre. He further thanked the vision of ECWA leadership for encouraging entrepreneurship in ECWA Schools in order to make pupils and students self reliant.

In his remarks, Prof. Qurix called on all stakeholders and well wishers to support the school in order to give the younger ones more entrepreneurial skills coupled with other areas of learning.

The ECWA Education Director, Rev. Prof. Stephen O.Y Baba heaped praises on Prof. Qurix for his wonderful impact both as Board Chairman of ESSS Kagoro and Vice Chancellor of Bingham University.

The Chief of Kagoro Dr. Ufuwai Bonet ably represented by Madakin Kagoro gave his Royal blessings for the centre and urged the Kagoro community to take advantage of the entrepreneurship centre.

The ECWA President, Rev. (Dr) Stephen Panya Baba expressed his gratitude to Prof. Qurix, urged others to emulate him and charged pupils/ students of ESSSK to embrace entrepreneurship.
Rev. Baba further stated that:
“ECWA trained students have a promising future because of the holistic education that encompassed both good moral upbringing and conventional sphere. I call on students and Kagoro Community to take advantage of this entrepreneurship centre by enrolling their children into ECWA Seminary staff School so as to avail themselves to both moral, academic and skills acquisition through the entrepreneurship centre”

Also present during the commissioning of the centre were Rev. Prof. Bitrus Sarma (the Provost, ECWA Theological Seminary, Kagoro and ESSSK Local Proprietor), Prof. Andrew Haruna (The Chairman, Governing Council of Bingham University), Dr. Mrs. Esther (Registrar, Bingham University), Rev. Habila Nyio (Chairman, Kagoro DCC), Rev. Yusuf Gajere (Deputy Provost, ETSK), Mr. Kolawole Moses (Managing Director, ECWA Portfolio Management limited), Mr. Bature Bonet (Outgoing PTA Chairman ESSSK ).

Also in attendance were Wazirin Kagoro, Magajin Gari Kagoro, the village Head of Kukum, staff of ESSSK, parents and students.
