During an advocacy visit to the Kwara Governor, Mallam Nasir Isa Kwarra, Executive Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), explained that the 2023 Census had been postponed.
The Commission had completed the pre-census exercise and informed President Muhammadu Buhari, who instructed them to hold off until the incoming administration took over.
The President wanted to ensure that the census was carried out during a transition period, to ensure acceptability and ownership.
