Early Life and Background

His real name is Panshak Henry Zamani a name that sounds like a king who can freeze your destiny just by looking at you!

He was born on October 30, 1986, in Minna, Nigeria. But just two years later, his family moved to Jos and that’s where his real story began.

Ice Prince is of Angas ethnic background and grew up in Jos, where he spent most of his childhood and early life.

Life was not easy for him. He lost his father at a young age and later lost his mother as well experiences that deeply shaped his journey and music. So yes… behind the swag and confidence, there is a real story of struggle and survival.

Education

Ice Prince attended schools in Jos, including St. Murumba College and Science Tutorial College.

He later gained admission into the University of Jos to study Zoology.

But life had other plans…

Financial challenges forced him to drop out in his first year.

So at some point, life basically asked him:

“Animals or music?”

And he said:

“Abeg, bring microphone!”

Music Journey – From School Freestyles to Stardom

Ice Prince started writing rap songs as early as 1999 and began recording in 2001.

In 2002, he formed a group called ECOMOG Squad, but it didn’t last long.

Later, in 2004, he linked up with artists like M.I Abaga and Jesse Jagz to form the legendary group Loopy Crew.

Game changer.

Breakthrough – “Oleku” Era

Then came the moment that changed everything…

The release of “Oleku”.

This song didn’t just become popular it became one of the most remixed songs in Nigerian music history.

At that point, Ice Prince was no longer an upcoming artist he was a certified star.

In 2011, he released his debut album Everybody Loves Ice Prince, which featured hits like:
