Biography of B.O.C Madaki – From Bauchi Boy to Northern Rap Voice

If you hear the name Luka Bulus Madaki, you might think it is a serious government official or maybe a lecturer that will not smile in class…

But no that is actually the real name of one of Northern Nigeria’s most respected rap voices B.O.C Madaki

And trust me, this Bauchi boy did not come to play

Early Life and Background

B.O.C Madaki was born on September 22, 1993, in Bauchi State, Nigeria.

He is from the Zhar (Sayawa) ethnic group and grew up in a close-knit family as the first and only male child.

Growing up was not all smooth his family experienced painful losses over the years, including the death of some of his siblings.

But instead of letting hardship break him, it became part of the story he would later tell through his music.

Education Journey

B.O.C began his education in Bauchi, attending primary and secondary schools within the state.

He later moved on to Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, where he initially studied Agricultural Technology.

He dropped out due to personal and academic challenges yes, the same story many creatives understand too well.

However, he did not stop there. He returned to the same polytechnic and switched to Estate Management, eventually graduating with a National Diploma (First Class).

So in summary:

He started with agriculture…

Switched to real estate…

And somehow ended up building bars instead of buildings!

Music Career – From Gospel to Hardcore Rap

B.O.C Madaki started his music journey as early as 2003 — and guess what? He began as a gospel artist.

Yes… the same guy dropping heavy rap bars today was once singing in church programs!

By 2007, he transitioned into secular music and fully embraced rap, adopting the name B.O.C Madaki.

And he delivers it in a powerful mix of Hausa, English, Pidgin, and Zhar dialect.

Some of his popular songs include:

He has also worked with notable artists such as Ice Prince, ClassiQ, DJ AB, and Odumodublvck, further strengthening his influence.

At some point, he was signed to a management label but later became independent, building his brand on his own terms.

That move alone? Bold. Risky. Legendary.

Titles, Awards, and Influence

In 2023, B.O.C Madaki was crowned “Sarkin Samarin Arewa” (Leader of Northern Youths), a major cultural recognition of his impact.

Personal Life and Family

B.O.C Madaki is known to keep his personal life relatively private.

However, it is publicly known that he is a father and has a son.

Details about his partner are not widely disclosed, as he prefers to keep family matters away from the spotlight.

And honestly, in an industry full of noise… that level of privacy is premium!

Style and Legacy

B.O.C is widely respected for his conscious rap — music that goes beyond entertainment and actually speaks to society.

He represents:
