Hon. Weynet Sidi, a Governorship aspirant of Kaduna State has called on the State Government to tackle the insecurity that has befell on Kaduna State, urging the government to keep to their campaign slogan of “MAKING KADUNA GREAT AGAIN” by tackling the insecurity issue properly. Also, he advised the government to impose state of emergency on security in the state.

“It is no longer news that Kaduna State has become a den and safe haven for kidnappers,armed bandits,killer herdsmen and all kinds of criminals and criminality. We are constantly inundated with stories of kidnappings and demand for ransome almost on a daily basis. Today no one is safe in Kaduna State as the kidnappings do not only involve the rich but also even the poor.”

“The Kaduna axis of the Abuja -Kaduna high way can be said to be under siege as cases of kidnappings is reported on a daily basis with the kidnappers having a field day unrestrained. The state metropolis and towns are not spared the horror with the rising rate of high profile kidnappings within the state.”

“The inability of the state government to contain the rising rate of kidnapping and insecurity in the state is a cause for serious concern. The primary responsibility of any government is to protect life and property of its citizens and the Kaduna State government cannot be said to be living up to its responsibility in this regard. The state government may be loosing focus of the security situation in the state with the many battles it is fighting within the state.”

“The Kaduna State security council must as a matter of urgency address the rising rate of kidnapping and insecurity in the state by giving the security crisis in the state the attention it deserves. The state government would do well to declare a state of emergency on security in the state, coordinate the activities of security agencies in the state,employ proactive measures all in a view to combating the menace of kidnapping and insecurity plaguing the state.All the security outfits including the armed forces must work together,sharing information and intelligence in a bid to end this reign of terror.”

“The state governor as the chief security officer of the state must exhibit seriousness and show commitment towards containing the security woes of the state. All efforts must be taken to return the state to its peaceful past. The ruling government must keep to its campaign slogan of “making Kaduna great again” by ending the security challenges bedevilling the state.”
