Some artists choose a name. Others grow into one.
For Nigerian Afrofusion artist JOTT, Just Over The Top represents more than a stage name
— it represents a mindset built around ambition, creativity, and refusing to settle for ordinary.
Formerly known as JOTT.AJ, the artist’s decision to move forward as simply JOTT was not
about becoming a different person or abandoning his past. It was about embracing a clearer
vision of who he is becoming as an artist.
“Just Over The Top” is the mindset behind everything JOTT creates. It is about pushing
beyond expectations, putting intention into the music, the visuals, the fashion, and the overall
experience he wants to give his audience. It is not about doing the most; it is about refusing to
do the bare minimum.
That mindset can be heard across his recent releases. “Sanko” featuring Nextee, produced
by Scarlet Sound and released on December 14, 2025, captures the chemistry and
confidence of attraction. “Paper,” produced by Scarlet Sound and released on March 6,
2026, reflects ambition, discipline, and the pursuit of success. His latest release, “FAYA
(IDAN),” produced by Kuuka and released on June 19, 2026, showcases confidence,
charisma, and fearless self-expression.

Beyond music, JOTT sees creativity as a complete expression. Fashion, visuals, and
storytelling are extensions of the same identity — a desire to build a world that feels
authentic, elevated, and personal.
Having experienced life across different parts of Nigeria, including Ogun State, Port
Harcourt, Ibadan, and Lagos, JOTT carries different perspectives into his artistry, creating
music rooted in real experiences while reaching toward a global audience.
For JOTT, becoming Just Over The Top is not about becoming someone else. It is about
becoming the fullest version of himself — an artist with a clear vision, a distinct sound, and a
mindset built to go beyond expectations.
