Born as Johnson Tochukwu in Enugu State, Nigeria, the fast-rising Afrobeats star has turned pain into purpose and struggle into success. Now based in Germany, Johntill’s journey to where he is today is nothing short of extraordinary.
At a young age, he embarked on a dangerous migration journey in search of a brighter future. He crossed the unforgiving desert, endured over a year in Libya, and faced one of the world’s most dangerous sea routes the Mediterranean.
In 2022, after spending five difficult days stranded at sea, Johntill was among hundreds of migrants rescued by the Italian search-and-rescue ship GEO Barents. A moment that could have ended in tragedy instead became the beginning of a new chapter.
Those experiences shaped the artist he is today and inspired his powerful new single, “Kpokirikpo.” More than just a song, Kpokirikpo is a celebration of survival, perseverance, and the belief that no dream is too far away.
Today, Johntill is proudly managed by Dinbeatz Recordz, under the leadership of celebrated producer and music executive Mr. Dinbeatz.
