RAPHAEL P. GALLEH, POPULARLY KNOWN AS MC ROLEX OR THE CELEBRITY LECTURER, RECENTLY SHARED HIS PERSPECTIVE ON THE ONGOING CONTROVERSY SURROUNDING THE NASARAWA INDUSTRY AND CELEBRITY AWARD.

The issue has caused reactions among entertainers and fans in Nasarawa, with some criticizing the pay per vote system used for the awards. While some believe it is unfair, others accuse the organizers of trying to exploit them.

In a self-recorded video posted on Facebook, Dr. Galleh weighed in on the issue, offering his thoughts as both a former event organizer and an advocate for the entertainment industry.

Why Event Organizers Need Financial Support

According to Raphael, organizing events is not just about creating fun moments, it is a business. Like any other business, event organizers need money to execute their plans and support the entertainment industry.

He urged people to understand that organizers are not out to extort money but are trying to cover the costs involved in running such events.

“I was an event organizer, organizing events by myself, hoping that by the end of the day, I’d get something, but I ended up getting nothing,” he said. He emphasized that without financial support, it becomes challenging for organizers to sustain their efforts and contribute to the growth of entertainment in the state.

The Pay-Per-Vote System: Advantage and Disadvantage

Dr. Galleh acknowledged the concerns about the pay per vote system. He noted that it can create an imbalance, as nominees with more financial resources may have an advantage.

However, he also pointed out that the system has its benefits. By voting for their favorite celebrities, fans are not only helping them win but also contributing to the development of the entertainment sector in Nasarawa State.

Supporting the Entertainment Industry

Dr. Galleh encouraged fans to vote for their preferred nominees, reminding them that their support is essential for the growth of the entertainment industry. He stressed that rather than criticizing the system or speaking negatively about the awards, people should focus on uplifting the industry and recognizing the efforts of both organizers and entertainers.

While the system may not be perfect, Dr. Galleh believes it is a necessary step in supporting the entertainment industry. By understanding the challenges event organizers face and participating in the voting process, fans can play a crucial role in ensuring the success of the industry.
