Music Star Shekx Weighs in on Nasarawa Industry and Celebrity Award Voting Controversy: “Where is the Love?”

Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the Nasarawa Industry and Celebrity Award (NICA) pay per vote system, music star Shekx whose recent release single “BADTIN” has become an anthem in the mouth of music lovers has shared his thoughts, offering a fresh perspective on the controversy.

While some entertainers and fans have criticized the system, Shekx has expressed his support for it, highlighting the importance of showing love and support for both artistes and event organizers.

Shekx made it clear that he has no issue with the paid voting system as long as it is genuine. According to him, it’s a small way for fans to show their love and appreciation for his art, beyond streaming and sharing his music.

“If you can’t vote me with as little as this token, then where’s the love and support?” Shekx asked. His statement challenges fans to reflect on the value they place on their favorite artistes and the effort they put into their craft.

In addition to calling for fan support, Shekx emphasized the need to back event organizers. He acknowledged the challenges they face in bringing their ideas to life, especially in an environment with minimal support systems.

“Let’s also do well by supporting these event organizers,” Shekx urged, noting that their efforts play a crucial role in promoting the entertainment industry in Nasarawa.

Shekx’s perspective aligns with that of Dr. Raphael Galleh, Nas T Breed who previously highlighted the financial challenges of organizing events. The 3 agree that the pay-per-vote system, despite its flaws, serves as a means to support the industry and its stakeholders.

By voting, fans not only help their favorite artistes or entertainers win but also contribute to the growth of the entertainment scene. As Shekx puts it, the system is not just about competition; it’s about building a community of support and appreciation.
