Renowned music executive and record label founder, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has shared his excitement about his football club, ‘Supremos FC,’ joining the Lagos Liga 2024.

Earlier this year, Don Jazzy reportedly expanded his ventures by launching Supremos FC after his record label, Mavins, was acquired by a foreign investor.

This comes barely two months after Afrobeat musician, Burna Boy launched his football academy.

Burna Boy had in August 2024, launched his football academy.

Sharing the news on his page, he wrote “Lagos Liga is the perfect opportunity for me to merge my passion for football with my commitment to developing talent.

“I’m excited to bring my expertise in building successful teams to the beautiful game.”

Don Jazzy made headlines some months ago when a foreign investor acquired his record label, Mavins.

Jazzy co-founded the now-defunct record label Mo’ Hits Records in 2004 with his former business partner, Oladapo Oyebanj, a.k.a D’banj.

Following its closure, he sets up Mavin Records on 8 May, 2012.

Mavin has produced artists such as Tiwa Savage, Reekado Banks, Korede Bello, Dr SID, D’Prince, DNA Twins, and many others.

Artistes under the label include Ayra Starr, Johnny Drille, Crayon, Boy Spice, Bayanni, Rema, Lifesize Teddy, and Ladipoe.

In 2019, Don Jazzy unveiled a newly built multimillion-naira mansion tagged “Mavin Creative Studios” as Mavin Corporate Headquarters to celebrate his 37th birthday.

The label has received numerous accolades, including the MTV Africa Music Award for Best Record Label in 2013 and 2014.

Mavin Records’ artistes have also collaborated with global singers such as Beyoncé, Selena Gomez, Kelly Rowland, and Chris Brown.
