Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has revealed she is a deeply religious person.
The thespian, however, added that despite her religious leaning, she does not attend church.
Ojo recalled being the first in her family to devote her life to Christ.
She made this known during the latest episode of Celebrities Quickies.
Iyabo Ojo said: “I am a very religious person. I don’t know if people know that about me though. But I don’t go to church. Is that not weird?
“Growing up, I think I am the first person that gave her life to Christ in my home. And I joined the choir. I was in the choir for about four years. And I read the bible from Genesis to Revelations back-and-forth trying to know God before backsliding.”
She also revealed that her dream city to visit is Paris, in France.
Recall that the Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has said she and her partner, Paulo Okoye, aka Paulo, are enjoying their relationship despite being unmarried.
She stated that ‘marriage is overrated’ and that her partner shares same sentiment.
The self-styled ‘Queen Mother’ spoke in the latest episode of her TV show, Iyabo Ojo TV, which had veteran singer Charly Boy as a guest.
She said: “I am enjoying my relationship. I am enjoying it. Luckily for me, he [Paulo Okoye] also doesn’t believe in marriage. We feel like it is overrated.”
Charly Boy concurred: “I agree with you that marriage is overrated. My son called me the other day and said, ‘Dad, why can’t people have a contract and say we will just do five years in marriage and if we are lucky and happy, we renew the contract?’
“It sounds funny but you know, there are different coping mechanisms because these days, marriage is not what it used to be when our parents got married. Marriage is a little bit muddled up now.
And people are a little bit more individualistic than they used to be before. Nobody wants to serve anybody. Everybody wants to get their own. So, that’s where the problem starts.”
