Cynthia Okereke, a well-established actress in the Nigerian film industry, has passed away.

Her colleague, Joseph Okechukwu, shared the news of her death on his verified Twitter account on Wednesday.

Okechukwu expressed his deep sorrow, saying, “Nwanyi oma, may you rest in peace. I am devastated and at a loss for words. It breaks my heart to learn that just last night, as I was preparing to buy your plane ticket to complete our unfinished project, you left this world to be with the Lord. This is one of the most difficult experiences I’ve faced recently.”

He continued, “I hope to find strength to overcome this shock. Life is incredibly fleeting. One moment it is present, the next it is gone. Throughout the 20 years that I’ve known you, you have always been an amazing, kind, and beautiful soul to be around. I never anticipated your departure would be so sudden and without fanfare. I am speechless. Rest in peace, Cynthia. May your gentle soul find eternal rest until we reunite in glory.”

It should be remembered that Okereke was abducted in Enugu along with her fellow actor, Clemson Cornel. However, they were eventually released unharmed by their captors after several days of being reported missing.
