Following the mixed reactions as Davido found himself embroiled in a heated controversy following the release of a music video that has sparked outrage among certain sections of society, concerned Nigerians have aired their opinions.

The controversial video In question allegedly depicted scenes outside a mosque, which has offended religious sentiments and cultural sensitivities.

The music video in question, titled “Jaye Lo” by Olori Logos was released a few days ago and quickly gained attention on various social media platforms.

In the video, scenes that portrayed Muslim faithfuls dancing in front of a mosque during prayers, lead to an immediate backlash from religious groups who perceived the content as disrespectful and sacrilegious.

Prominent religious figures and community leaders from the Arewa region, situated in Northern Nigeria, were among the first to express their outrage over the music video. They condemned the artist and called for swift action to be taken against him.

While Davido took down the post following the heat, stating that there was no intention to offend any religious group, the damage had already been done, and emotions continued to run high.

One particular call to action that emerged from the Arewa community was a boycott of advert banners for Infinix, a popular smartphone brand in Nigeria. Davido is known to be a brand ambassador for Infinix.

Happy, in her take, believed that burning Davido’s Infinix posters was not enough to send a strong message, adding that they should as well smash their Infinix phones as a way to demonstrate their disapproval of the artist’s actions.

Her ideal message to the general public (affected Muslims, especially) is that there is a need for both parties to dialogue, arrive at a peaceful resolution instead of the violent and defamatory measures being taken.
