AMVCA 2023: Celebrating African Film Excellence
Yesterday, the African film industry gathered in grand style at the Eko Hotel for the highly anticipated 9th edition of the African Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA).
This prestigious event honored and recognized exceptional talents across the African continent.
One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of the Industry Merit Award to the legendary actress Patience Ozokwor. Her remarkable contributions and outstanding service to the film industry earned her this well-deserved accolade. Patience Ozokwor’s presence has been felt on screen for decades, and her impact on African cinema is truly commendable.
Jade Osiberu’s captivating film, “Brotherhood,” and Kunle Afolayan’s masterful creation, “Anikulapo,” emerged as big winners, receiving multiple awards across different categories. These films stood out for their compelling storytelling, exceptional performances, and cinematic brilliance.
