Nigerian musician, Gabriel Amanyi, better known as Terry G, recently addressed comparisons between himself and fellow artist, Portable.

Taking to his Instagram page, Terry G shared a post from Twitter user Victor Babatunde, who demanded that fans apologize for comparing Terry G’s “madness” to that of Portable.

In response, Terry G urged his followers to remember that in the music industry, it’s important to distinguish between the original and the copy. “In this craze business, please never compare original to photocopy because your minds will soon realize,” he wrote.

Terry G’s statement is a reminder that artists should be recognized for their unique talents and contributions, rather than being lumped together based on superficial similarities.

By focusing on what makes each artist distinct, fans can appreciate and celebrate the diversity of Nigeria’s vibrant music scene.

If you’re a fan of Nigerian music, be sure to support your favorite artists and celebrate their individuality. And remember, never compare an original to a mere photocopy!
