Qn. Please can you briefly tell us who you are?
Tonak: My name is Gideon Tonak David
Qn. What tribe are you and from which state/LGA?
Tonak: I’m Bajju by tribe from Zangon Kataf Local Government Kaduna State.
Qn. What is your native name and why are you call Kajju Lion?
Tonak: My native name is Tonak and they call me Kajju land lion because I’m the greatest rapper in Kajju land because lion is always the greatest in the jungle and I did a lot of hard work to get to where I’m today.
Qn. Wow that’s amazing. So, What do you do for a living aside from music?
Tonak: I’m working at Banarly fish company Otto Lagos State Nigeria.
Qn. You’re quite a hustler. And what was your ambition as a kid?
Tonak: As a kid music was my ambition
Qn. Interesting… What are your qualifications so far?
Tonak: Immediately I graduated from secondary school I went ahead and studied Computer Sciences at Mcjewel Computer Institute and thereafter I just decided to put all my energy in my music struggles.
Qn. One day it will surely pay. So what motivated or inspired you into music?
Tonak: What inspired me in to music is that music is always an inspiration from God and music Always makes me happy
Qn. Why do you chose the genre of music you’re practising?
Tonak: I choose hip-hop because I believe rapping is the best way of passing the real massage to the people.
Qn. Who is your role model?
Tonak: My role model is Cassidy
Qn. I used to love Cassidy music too. I can still remember one of his trending song back then titled, “I am a hustler” I guess you both are sharing something in common lol. So tell us, how old are you?
Tonak: I’m 33 years old
Qn. What is Your best/greatest achievement?
Tonak: My greatest achievement is I featured legendary and also Eminem rap battle award winner called GODWON in 2016 here in Lagos and I also collaborated with legendary singer, producers and a multiple award winner and former question mark record called “SILVER SADDIH” in 2020 here in Lagos, Then in 2017 my Bajju rap song titled “TONAK” song reach number in INVICTA FM CROC CITY top ten count down also in 2019 my Hausa rap song title “KAI” reach number in INVICTA FM croc CITY TOP TEN Count down in kaduna state
Qn. Wow you’re quite the Kajju Lion. I’m impress with your achievements so far. Are you signed to any label?
Tonak: I’m signed to my own record label call LION STATE ENTERTAINMENT and I’m working hard to make it big.
Qn. What is the Most embarrassing moment of your life?
Tonak: My most embarrassing moment was when my ex girlfriend called –GRACIUS SUPREME — almost slapped me in a show in the presence of thousands of my fans for keeping her waiting too long I was so embarrassed that day I can’t forget that 😂 lol
Qn. Lol. This bring us to our next interesting question. Would you like to marry the lady you are dating now?
Tonak: I have a girlfriend called Precious I love her so much and by God grace I will love to marry her in few years time.
Qn. You must be a promising man. Who was your first love?
Tonak: My first love was Elizabeth Iliya she was my primary school class mate
Qn. At what age will you like to marry?
Tonak: I will love to marry at the age of 37
Qn. What’s your food?
Tonak: My favorite food is yam any kind of yam is acceptable by me
Qn. If your wishes could be granted, what’s the first thing you would wish for?
Tonak: If my wishes could be granted I will love to be wealthy and also stay off stress
Qn. Who is your celebrity crush?
Tonak: My celebrity crush is Destiny Etiko
Qn. Wow the mighty Etiko. So what’s your best Nigerian song?
Tonak: My favorite Nigerian song is “AYE” by Davido
Qn. One artiste you wanna collaborate with?
Tonak: The artiste I will love to collaborate with is Davido
Qn. What do you hate the most?
Tonak: What I hate the most is promised and fail
Qn. What do you love the most?
Tonak: What I love the most is helping the less privileged
Qn. Now I’m feeling emotional smiles. Tell us what scares you the most?
Tonak: What scares me the most is end time
Qn. Hmmm we are all scare of that. Who is your competitor in music industry?
Tonak: I don’t have a competitor because I’m in the best shape of my life right now so no one is competing with me in the Music Industry
Qn. Will you choose fame over riches or riches over fame?
Tonak: I choose riches over fame
Qn. Will you quit music for $20 million (Dollars)?
Tonak: No I can’t quit music for 20 million us dollars I will do music till I’m dead
Qn. Impressive. Will you choose to stay with Mavin Record in Nigeria or choose USA with free visa, green card and with a job that gives you $40,000 (dollars) monthly?
Tonak: Yes I will choose to stay with Marvin record in Nigeria
Qn. Should your fans and everyone expect something from you anytime soon?
Tonak: Yes I have a Bajju song coming next month tittle “ANZAN ANBYI” the meaning in English is called WHY.
Qn. What do you think about Kaduna Entertainment Industry ranging from the artistes, event planners, OAPs, promoters, bloggers, producers etc?
Tonak: Yep Kaduna Music Industry is growing up especially the artistes, OAPs, Bloggers, Producers etc they are all doing an amazing job and I’m really proud of them.
Qn. Your advice to upcoming artistes?
Tonak: My advice to all the upcoming artists is that they should keep up moving no matter the stress the should keep working hard and God will surely see them through.
