Isaiah Agwasan Achy (born 18 August 2001), known professionally as Purpl3, is a Nigerian rapper, singer and songwriter. His music categorizes as Afro fusion where he blends hip hop, and Afrobeats. Purpl3 is known for his collaboration with King A6ix, on the track ‘Many Men’ in 2016.

. EARLY LIFE

Purpl3 was born in Kafanchan, southern Kaduna, into a family of five. His father is of Kaduna decent and his mother, a Fulani from Taraba. He has two siblings; King A6ix his brother and a junior sister.

He grew up in Kafanchan where he attended primary school at Headstart Academy and later moved to Jos, where he had his secondary education. He graduated from Ecwa Staff school Jos, and moved to Lagos where he currently schools in the University of Lagos.

.CAREER

Purpl3 began his career in 2016, under the stage name ‘Maggz‘, with a couple of collaborations with King A6ix, who’s also his brother. He also collaborated with Jacezino as well as the acclaimed Kaduna State producer Zerey.

He later on changed his stage name in 2019, after discovering another artist with the name. His first project with the name was another collaboration with King A6ix on the ‘Society’. He was later featured on ‘Tonight’ by king A6ix as well as a couple of projects also with Meris.

. INFLUENCES

Purpl3 acknowledged the influence of a number of artist’s in hi career, the first and probably biggest influencer on his career is ‘Travis Scott’. Purpl3 often samples a bit of Travis in his heavy use of effects such as reverb as well as slight auto tune. Canadian stars Drake and Tori Lanez also influence him. He also looks up to African sensations Davido and Burna Boy.
