Aside house and road robbery, happenings in the banking sector calls for concern as cases of bank managers on plotted kidnap of customers and demand for ransom have become the order of the day.
Staff in the banking system are not left out as they have from recent times been responsible for the raid of banks and their esteemed customers by gunmen and bandits.
Adding to the attempted robbery of First Bank of Nigeria Plc in Mpape of Abuja, where the attackers were said to have alleged that “an insider” was working with them, Pishikeni Zagana Daniel stresses that bank customers must take privacy very seriously if they must be safe.
Pishikeni, in his words advised that;
“Customers must develop respect for their privacy. They should establish boundaries as to what to and what not to disclose to their bank manager or any staff in the bank they operate with.”
He added that..
“You can be sold out to robbers. You can be followed and robbed anywhere. You can be kidnapped too. You must be very careful with the information you share and how open you are to bankers.”
Following the statement of the Human Rights Lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, who had in the late hours of Saturday decried the combined efforts of operatives of the Federal Capital Territory Police Command and soldiers from the Guards Brigades, who foiled robbery attack of First Bank of Nigeria Plc. in Mpape area of Abuja earlier on Saturday as unconstitutional and national scandal, Pishikeni in opposition said;
“The police and soldiers are liable to enforce themselves in situations where a single force or team cannot control the heat at a given place and at a given time. The act should be termed “Joint Task Force” rather than a “National scandal.”
