Meris began his career in 2010, under the stage name ‘Akinmeris’, with a couple of collaborations with Maneek and Purpl3.
He later on changed his stage name in 2019, after discovering another artist with the name. His first project with the name was another collaboration with Purpl3.

Meris acknowledged the influence of a number of artist’s in hi career, the first and probably biggest influencer on his career is ‘Travis Scott’. Meris often samples a bit of Travis in his heavy use of effects such as reverb as well as slight auto tune. Canadian stars Drake and Tori Lanez also influence him. He also looks up to African sensations Davido and Burna Boy.
