The students of Kaduna State College Of Education Gidan-Waya engaged in a destructive demonstration on 28 November, 2018 which resulted to the closedown of the school till further notice as secular came from the office of the Hon. commissioner of Education and technology directing the suspension of all NCE regular academics activities.
BESTXPLORER has however reached out to the Public Relations Officer of the college, Mr. D.M Aduwu to get a details information on why the students embarked on a protest that resulted to the destruction of the school properties.
The College P.R.O Mr. Dan M. Aduwu speaking with Mr. Fidelis the owner of Bestxplorer, says the allerged increments of school fees and postponement of the earlier scheduled date for exams as speculated and widely spread by the students were just a mere rumors as there was no notice from the school management in respect to the allegations by their students, he however said the closing down of the school and its academics activities only applied to the NCE regular students and does not in anyway affect the Degree and Remedial students.
On the other hand Bestxplorer has also reached out to some students of the school who pleaded for anonymity; says the sum of N4,000 has been added to their school fees in which they don’t actually know if the increment was for late registration or otherwise adding that the N4,000 surfaces on their school fees invoice in which it does not specify if it was for late registration or increment of school fees.
Meanwhile, asking them if they have seen a notice for a postponement of their exams they all responded negative.
