Update on fuel pump price after Dangote Refinery hike

Fidwon March 14, 2026 1 minute read
Dangote first petrol

Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, retail outlets and other filling stations in Abuja are yet to increase their fuel pump price, about 24 hours after Dangote Refinery effected a N100 increment.

Recall that on Friday, the 650,000-barrel-per-day refinery hiked its pump price to N1,175 per liter.

Dangote Refinery’s increments usually result in retail price adjustment nationwide.

However, checks by DAILY POST on Saturday morning showed that the pump price at NNPCL filling stations remained unchanged at N1,261 per liter.

Similarly, AA Rano, Ranoil, NIPCO, and other filling stations charged between N1,230 and N1,330 per liter across parts of Abuja and environs.

However, Optima, a filling station near EFCC headquarters in Abuja, increased its petrol by N50 to N1270, up from N1220 per liter.

As of the time of filing this report, Dangote Refinery-backed MRS filling stations in parts of Abuja have not dispensed petrol since Friday.

Reports has it that crude oil prices surged to above $100 per barrel on Friday.

In a swift response to the crude oil price spike on Friday, Dangote Refinery adjusted its domestic fuel price.
