SELF ACCLAIMED NASARAWA FIRST SON STEVE SHAMMAH STATED THAT NASARAWA ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY IS GRAPPLING DUE TO STRUGGLES WITH RECOGNITION, LACK OF SUPPORT, AND LACK OF GOVERNMENT ATTENTION FOR HOME TALENTS

I have personally made some sacrifices in the Nasarawa state entertainment over the years and of a truth, it’s not worth it. You do or no do, guys will still drag your name for the wrong reasons.
Some of us gave our all for the past over 20years even when nothing was working yet not appreciated or recognized, with all that, we are still consistent in our entertainment pursuance and programmes.
We expect growth without sacrifices, coming together as a United voice which most of us have ignored our call over the year’s to forming a formidable force.
You can’t fight the government and expects it’s future support. PMAN or any entertainment body in the state is not a government parastatal hence the government can only support if interested in any of her programmes.
The coming of Icon 2baba/Natasha should be highly embraced and welcomed; not to draw controversy but how can we take advantage of there coming to introduce ourselves, engage and involve ourselves in the upcoming event?
The strength of PMAN or any entertainment outfit in Nasarawa state is in it’s unity and ability to create programmes that individuals, politicians or even the government can come in and support such creativity.
That’s why when I see lots of us say this person or that person don’t support us, I laugh cos the solution is in us. This one is here, the other one is there. When over the year’s some of us even with our experience where calling and pleading for the need to come together cos the reality is we struggle more as an individual.
I must give it to the Nasarawa state government under the able leadership of Engr. Abudullahi A. Sule, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa state for the support always rendering to the Nasarawa state entertainment. The records are there that the Nasarawa state government have been supporting entertainment outfits in the state.
Which of this outfits do you belong? Even the PMAN that we should all belong before our various personal outfits, are you a registered member? Register and also involve yourself in other Nasarawa state entertainment outfits doing well in there little capacity. Encourage and keep supporting each other to grow.
When you don’t want someone to grow, you as well won’t grow. We must learn to serve to be served.
That’s why I only promote Artistes who look for me and wants my support, I’m open, interested and happy for anyone wanting to take advantage of any of my platforms whether on radio, TV or to promote his/her craft on any of my social media platforms but some will start accusing you for supporting certain Arts, I dont know if one expect you to follow them to there houses and beg them to promote there Arts. I can only do what my strength can carry at a time and I’m not doing it to be given applause but a driving passion; that’s why people like us have been consistent over the years regardless of all the noice.
1. Build and promote your talent and craft.
2. How many times have you build and support your social media platform and support your fellow Nasarawa state Arts?
3. How many times have you paid gate pass to watch each other’s shows?
4. How many times have you bought a CD or downloaded a song of yourselves as a little support?
5. How many times have you dragged each other on social media platforms for the wrong ❌ reasons instead of putting that energy in coming together to pursue success. There is power in numbers and a United voice. We are just specialized in ranting, backbiting and putting energy in the wrong moves.
6. How many times have you collaborated and synergized with each other to grow? Taking advantage of our various contents that we are endowed with?
7. How many of us have registered as PMAN members or any creative Association that have been consistent over the year’s? If we are to send our registration membership to the government or any outfit for support today, what will be our numbers? I’m sure registered members in any entertainment outfit in the state as it stands might not be up to 40persons.
A good example is my brother Hillarious Sunny of Jos. Recently I saw him with Ice Prince making a content, travelling to Abuja, just to collaborate and create some content. This guys na 2 heads them get?
Please let’s stop this government no dey support us, it’s shows how dependence we are to a specific Arm. If we are strong and show number. Put value on what we do, show some level of capacity not only the government will involve us but politicians as well business tycoons.
we have Guiness, Coca cola, banks, etc to collaborate with if we are a serious body.
In as much as we are calling on the government to put the right systems, enabling environment for the industry to strive, what part have we played in supporting each other?
We can only lure the government through bargaining, dialogue, tabling issues that both parties will be gaining.
Our large numbers can create and draw attention. That’s how it’s done, not ranting.
