The management of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, has suspended the Students Union Election into political offices which was conducted in the various campuses of the University on Wednesday 4th September 2024.

The Vice-Chancellor Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman announced the suspension when she addressed the contending aspirants of the Students Union Government in the Senate Chamber of the University on Thursday 5th September 2024.

Professor Sa’adatu who expressed management’s displeasure over the outcome of the inconclusive students elections said that the move to suspend further activity on the elections was taken to allow for frayed nerves to be calm and forestall any perceived breakdown of law and order.

The Vice-Chancellor stated that an investigative committee will be set up to investigate the immediate and remote causes of the fracas that disrupted the smooth conclusion of the elections. She further assured that security agencies are also working round the clock to ensure that there is no breakdown of law and order in the school. She urged the aspirants to address their numerous supporters on the need to maintain peace and order in the University.
