Former Liverpool defender Steve Nicol has identified Victor Osimhen as a top transfer target for Arsenal, citing the Napoli striker’s potential to strengthen the Gunners’ squad.
With Osimhen rumored to be leaving Napoli in the upcoming summer transfer window, Nicol’s endorsement may boost Arsenal’s chances of securing the highly sought-after player.
The Nigeria international has been linked with Arsenal, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain.
However, Nicol wants the Premier League North London club to sign Osimhen because he doesn’t take too many chances to score a goal compared to Kai Havertz.
Speaking on ESPN FC, Nicol said: “If somebody said to you, you can either have [Kai] Havertz or [Victor] Osimhen. Are you really going to take Havertz?
“You are not going to take in a million years over Osimhen. So, if you can afford it, I agree with Shaka’s point.
“When it really matters and you have only one chance in a game, again the question is it going to be Havertz or Osimhen.
“Everybody will say he scored in the Champions League final but the truth is he takes too many chances to score that Osimhen won’t.”
