Leah Sharibu, a Nigerian schoolgirl kidnapped over 5 years ago, has been forced into marriage once again by her terrorist captors.
According to reports, Leah was made to abandon her first “husband” – an ISWAP commander she was forcibly married to after her 2018 abduction.
She has now been remarried to another high-ranking member within the extremist Islamic State-allied group.
The heartbreaking development underscores Leah’s continued exploitation at the hands of the faction that raided her school and took her hostage as a teenager.
Despite efforts to free her, she remains a prisoner, enduring unimaginable abuse including repeated forced marriages to her terrorist handlers.
Now nearing 20 years old, Leah has spent a third of her life in captivity since being seized in Dapchi, Yobe State as a 14-year-old student.
