In its 12th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton in Abuja, the All Progressives Congress (APC) elected former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, as the National Chairman of the party.
Additionally, Ajibola Basiru from Osun State was elected as the National Secretary. Ganduje, in his address, expressed gratitude to the President and assured the party of promoting internal democracy, implementing a scientific register of party members, and ensuring fairness during party primaries.
He also pledged to focus on election management and conflict resolution to secure victory in upcoming governorship elections. During the meeting, President Bola Tinubu emphasized delivering good governance to the Nigerian people and hailed the 2023 elections as the best in the country’s history.
Notably, former President Muhammadu Buhari, former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and Bisi Akande were present at the NEC meeting, while two members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), Senator Abdullahi Adamu and Senator Iyiola Omisore, resigned earlier in mid-July.
