D. I. A otherwise known as Uncle D. I. A as popular known on tweeter has reveals to his fans, well wishers and to anyone who cares to know on how his journey into music or entertainment was. He reveals the fact that the journey was extremely difficult but notwithstanding the rapper also reveals that; he is not going to stop or be reluctant for anything as he has gone far to quit.

My Favorite rap song of all time is titled
“The Grind – by – Masta Ace”.
The song literally talks about me at a certain point in time where I was playing the role of Producer, manager, artiste, Graphic designer, marketer/distributor and all you can ever think of.
Call me Naive or whatever you want…. You can’t blame me tho. I was just a Young lad trying to be heard.
Forget the calm face and all the composure I wear, It may seem Funny to imagine that this particular @yuncle_D.I.A was once a battle Emcee & Hey!!!
I was one hell of a force to reckon with…… Ask around and you’ll be told….
(I can’t remember loosing a battle).
I used to feast on rappers for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
That’s story for another day tho.
FAST FORWARD
So I recently stumbled on the last physical CD and had to share with you. The nostalgic feeling is priceless and I couldn’t keep to myself.
The year was 2013, I was rounding up my I.T and getting set for my final year in the University when Almighty ASUU (holders of destiny) decided to go on an indefinite strike.
For about 6 months + I was home idle and all I did was write bars, make beats, watch TV, sleep, eat, repeat.
At this point in time, school wasn’t in session so I had no one to battle. I was at some point furious and frustrated like an addict in his withdrawal stage….. then I found strength & channeled the energy to writing songs and men It felt great.
“No Regrets”
This was when I realized that I needed to put aside the rap battle thingy and properly define my rap career cos besides free styling for hours nonstop,
I actually knew how to write songs.
Although I could not sing Like Chris Brown or Burno Mars but I could easily create melodies and maneuver through notes to a reasonable extent.
Before then, I had recorded and released a lot of songs but the 2013 ASUU Strike birthed my debut music compilation so this is an official message of appreciation to the Government. 😁
25 tracks of raw uncut madness if you ask me & I named it #TMI (Too Much IntelliSense).
+ I produced a couple of the songs on the project,
designed the art cover (with my Nokia E62i phone) & did a whole lot of other things that I’ll gist you another day.
I remember Hawking / distributing my CDs on the streets of Zaria (for free) since it was a mixtape but I was collecting anything to support the Ministry.
There was this one Samaritan that saw my effort under the scorching sun and even paid 65naira for a copy (in old 5 naira denominations) 😂😂😂
The essence of sharing and putting this story out here is because I intend to frame the last available copy of the CD and hang it on my wall because one day, it will become a priceless relic.
So If you visit me and see it, I may be too occupied or not in the mood to gist but this post is to serve as an explanation.
I want the frame to constantly remind me that I’ve come a very long way and there’s no stopping now…. Not just yet + I need to keep my head up and continue pushing regardless of all the bingos wey dey bark for background….
