1. Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt on Friday barred the State Chief Judge, Justice Simeon Chibuzor Amadi, from receiving or acting on the letter from the Rivers State House of Assembly to constitute a panel to investigate the accusation of gross misconduct against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his deputy, Prof Ngozi Odu. Four members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, who recently withdrew from the impeachment proceedings against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Deputy Governor, Prof Ngozi Odu, have reversed their decision and declared full support for the process. The lawmakers are the Minority Leader of the House, Hon. Sylvanus Nwankwo; Peter Abbey, representing Degema Constituency; Barile Nwakoh of Khana Constituency I; and Emilia Amadi of Obio/Akpor Constituency II.
5. Edo State Deputy Governor, Hon Dennis Idahosa, on Friday denied having any rift with his principal, Governor Monday Okpebholo. He said any attempt to weaken the relationship between him and Okpebholo by trying to sow the seed of discord between them “is dead on arrival.”
