Varater Abancha, popularly known by his stage name Varat, is a rising Afrobeats talent born on June 8, 2003, in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area, Nigeria. His sound blends infectious rhythms with heartfelt storytelling, drawing inspiration from Afrobeats heavyweights Runtown and Burna Boy.
Varat’s musical journey began in 2020, when he stepped into the studio for the first time to record his own tracks. Since then, his passion for music has only grown stronger, fueled by a natural talent for songwriting and a unique flair for style and creativity. Outside of music, he also shines as a stylist and actor, showcasing a versatile artistic spirit.
A proud alumnus of Vaatia College, Makurdi for his secondary education and Tiny Tots School (Class of 2014) for his primary schooling, Varat’s roots remain an important part of his story. Currently based in Abuja, he is gearing up to make waves with his debut single titled Let Her Go Away, accompanied by a captivating visualizer. This marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter, as he also works on his first EP, set to further introduce his sound to the world.
