LETTER TO AWARD AND SHOW ORGANIZERS — PEDROBABA ALLEGES AWARD BUYING IN NASARAWA ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY.
A well known Nasarawa based artiste and one of the pioneers of music in the state, Pedrobaba, has made serious allegations against award and show organizers. In a letter addressed to them, he claimed that some organizers demand payment from entertainers to secure nominations and win awards.
Pedrobaba further alleged that certain nominees even have the privilege of selecting the categories they wish to be placed in, raising concerns about the credibility of such awards.
In his letter, he stated:
“Please don’t quote me wrong, I am not saying it is wrong when you give an award to anyone. You can even give the most wack entertainer the best artiste in the state, and that will make him work harder. A child who takes first place is not always the most brilliant in the class, but stop collecting money to give awards. I even heard that some of those guys select the category they want.”
