NSUK Asks Each Undergraduate Students To Pay ₦5,000 Damages Over 2024 SUG Election Violence

The Professor Saadatu Hassan Liman-led management of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi, NSUK has imposed a compulsory levy of ₦5,000 on each undergraduate student of the University over the violence that greeted the 2024 SUG elections.

In a circular signed by the University’s Registrar, Dr. Bala Ahmed, the management said the levy will be embedded in the school fees of students for the 2024/25 academic session.

The decision according to the circular dated November 22nd, 2024, was taken after assessing the level of damage caused by students during the election whose results is yet to be announced.

The management also announced that graduating students who were rusticated over the incident for their various levels of involvement must serve their punishment before they are mobilized for the NYSC programme.

Additionally, the circular stated that graduating students will also not be issued their statement of results until they present evidence of payment of the levy at the examinations and records office.

All relevant departments in the University have been directed to ensure strict compliance with the directive.
