A scandal has shaken Guinea-Bissau after compromising videos of Baltasar Ebang, the former Director-General of the National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF), were leaked online.
These videos have sparked widespread outrage and prompted authorities to launch investigations into potential health risks and ethical violations
The footage allegedly shows Ebang involved in intimate acts with numerous women, including his own cousin and women linked to prominent officials.
This shocking revelation has led to Ebang’s suspension.
Equatorial Guinea’s government is tightening security measures by installing surveillance cameras in official buildings.
This move comes after the senior official was seen in several videos of secretly recording intimate moments with multiple women, some allegedly connected to high-ranking officials.
The accused, Baltasar Ebang Engonga, has been suspended from his role as director of the National Financial Investigation Agency pending investigation.
The investigation began as part of a broader probe into corruption and embezzlement when public investigators discovered over 400 videos on Engonga’s computer, some involving wives and relatives of government leaders.
The leak of certain videos to social media has sparked public outrage, leading officials to address the controversy.
Prosecutor General Anatolio Nzang Nguema stated that authorities are examining whether Engonga’s activities may have posed a public health risk, suggesting potential prosecution.
Vice President Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue announced that surveillance cameras will be implemented in government offices to curb “improper and illicit behavior,” adding that employees found engaging in sexual acts on-site will be dismissed immediately.
