Unity and Resilience for Sustainable Peace as Rep. Umaru holds a sensitization session on peace and unity among the people of Akwanga, Wamba, Nasarawa Eggon Federal Constituency.

The Deputy Chairman House Committee on Public Accounts and Member Representing Akwanga/Wamba/Nasarawa Eggon Federal Constituency, Hon. Jeremiah Umaru ACA,ACTI, has consistently placed his faith in the potential of his constituents in recognizing their dynamism, innovation, and fervor as formidable catalysts for transformation and peacebuilding, thereby placing them at the forefront of the mission to mend communities, restore trust, and revitalize the societal framework.

Rep. Umaru, in collaboration with the National Organisation Agency(NOA), organises a Sensitization session on peace and unity among the good people of Akwanga, Wamba and Nasarawa Eggon Federal Constituency at the Trish Hall, kini country home, Akwanga, Nasarawa State to tackle insecurity and bring to fore peace and unity among the people.

The event was an interactive one as it brought together traditional rulers, youths, security operatives, community stakeholders, and religious leaders to brainstorm collectively on the way forward towards achieving a lasting peace and unity in the Constituency.

The engagement brought about initiatives that served as a testament to substantial potential in driving peace within the communities.

The resource person, Mr. Bashir Idris Garna, Director of North Central NEMA, tasked the leaders to possess the ability to recognize peace-related challenges, develop non-violent solutions through open communication, and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders to cultivate a culture of peace.

He enjoined them to educate their peers and community members on their pivotal role in establishing enduring peace. This includes pioneering initiatives that foster inclusivity, a deep respect for diversity, and the constructive management of conflicts, all in pursuit of a more equitable and harmonious society.

Dr. Gideon Osi, Managing Director of Gosima Group, Abuja and a philanthropist added glamour to the event by giving out scholarship to 3 students from the Northern senatorial district one each from the 3 local government Areas of Akwanga,Nasarawa Eggon and Wamba as part of his contributions to education sector which is one of the nine points agenda of salon salo movement.

Dignitaries who graced the event were Engr. Eugene Ashinyokam rep. Federal ministry of special duties, office of the secretary to the government of federation, Mr. David Akoji,Director Special Duties/State Operations who represented the Director General of NOA, Hassan J. Galadima, Nigerian Correction Service, Nasarawa Northern zone, Ogah Tanimu K, Nigerian Immigration Service, Akwanga Division and Major JS Yarth, Sub-Sector Commander Nasarawa North and Kokona LGC.

Others include; Hon. Kwanta Yakubu Bohar, Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources(Represnted theExecutiveGovernorof NasarawaState), Hon. Safiyanu Isah Andaha, Chairman Akwanga LGC, HRH Pastor Samson Gamu Yare, Chun Mada, HRH Amb. Habila Aboki, Chun Nku, HRH Alhaji Sule Bawa, Sarkin Gudi, HRH Mondeh Toma Chagga, Chu Buh, HRH Alhaji Yusuf Amwe, Chun Ngah, all security personnels from the constituency, women groups and politicians.
