On Tuesday, the Lagos State Police Command arrested controversial musician Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, for failing to pay a debt incurred from purchasing a G-Wagon from a local car dealer.
Reports indicate that Portable paid only N13m of the N27m vehicle price, refusing to settle the remaining N14m, claiming the car was defective.
According to a report by Punch Online, it was learnt that whenever the car dealer contacted him to pay the balance, he usually claimed that the vehicle was bad.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed that Portable had been arrested.
“Yes, Portable has been arrested. He bought G-Wagon for N27m, paid N13m and refused to pay the rest, claiming the vehicle was bad. We arrested him today,” SP Hundeyin stated.
