Following reports of the Nasarawa State University Keffi (NSUK) student who committed suicide recently, the internet has been abuzz with discussions on the matter.
However, in a recent development, a voice note believed to be her final message to the BOLD IDEAS SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION’s founder and convener, Honorable Isaac Peter Azige, has shed light on what might have gone wrong.
In the voice note, the NSUK’s Sarah is heard expressing her distress, saying, ‘A lot has happened, like, a lot; everything is just happening to me at once.’
She recounts, ‘He lied to me, started shouting at me, and making me look bad – as usual… I left Abuja and arrived in Akwanga around 1 am, but he refused to open the gate, telling me to go back to wherever I came from’ (referring to her cheating boyfriend).
‘…I went upstairs and saw him with another woman. He embarrassed me. After all I have done for him. After all I have gone through with him,’ she added in the voice note.
In an interview with a correspondent from BestXplorer, Honorable Isaac Peter Azige disclosed that the deceased declined to share contacts of people around her, including her parents and siblings, when he tried to alert others about her plans to end her life.
Earlier, Sarah had informed Isaac that a friend of hers was paid to post her picture on Facebook, falsely declaring her dead. This information was later debunked as false.
Regarding this, Sarah mentioned, ‘..the account that posted that I’m dead messaged me and said it was my friend who paid him to post about me. Who did I wrong? Who did I offend? Why is everything happening at once?’

Based on the evidence we’ve gathered, we assert that Sarah took her life due to several pressing issues, notably her boyfriend’s infidelity after the sacrifices she made for him. If he had been there for her, he could have helped her through these tough times.
Additionally, consistent disappointment from the circle of friends she so much believed in.
Sarah was once crowned the “Most Beautiful Girl in Nasarawa,” with the entire world ahead of her to live for.
It’s truly saddening that the state-owned university has lost such a bright individual.
