An attempted kidnapping was reported in Lafia, Nasarawa earlier this week by Facebook user HRH Queen Ene.
Queen Ene posted about her neighbor’s young child almost being abducted by a male suspect believed to be after the toddler for ritual purposes.
Queen Ene shared how the unidentified man tried taking the baby but was caught in the act.

This could be due to the trend of abducting children for spiritual rituals to get rich quick.
As instances of ritual kidnappings keep occurring in parts of Nigeria, this traumatic case in Lafia highlights the constant danger to innocent young lives.
Thankfully the culprit was stopped before succeeding at kidnapping the young boy. But the desperation that fuels such crimes persists nationwide.
Communities must remain vigilant and authorities proactive to protect those most vulnerable.
The unfortunate regularity of ritual abductions also underscores the importance of addressing why some consider such severe acts in the first place.
