At least seven Boko Haram terrorists have surrendered in the Bama Local Government Area of Borno State following a weeklong sustained offensive by the troops of Operation Hadin Kai in Sambisa forest.
Bama is about 60km from Maiduguri, the state capital.

Newsmen learnt that the terrorists from Birnin Abuja Village in Sambisa forest laid down their arms to the troops of the 21 Armoured Brigade on Friday.
The militants, Julebeb, Munkaila, Zarkawi, Sadiq, Baba, Abu Harira and Hamza, who were active fighters loyal to the Jamā’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihād, Boko Haram faction, surrendered their AK-47 rifles.
