Daredevil gunmen have kidnapped Professor Onje Gye-wado, a former deputy governor of Nasarawa State.
Reports indicate that the incident occurred in the early hours of Friday, when the attackers invaded Gwagi village in Wamba Local Government Area of the state.
Onje Gye-wado, who served as deputy governor during the Abdullahi Adamu administration, was abducted from his residence after the gunmen shot sporadically.
The Nasarawa State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed the incident and stated that the Commissioner of Police in the state had mobilized a reinforcement team comprising police tactical units, military personnel, vigilantes, and local hunters to rescue the victim unharmed. The whereabouts of the former deputy governor remain unknown.
