A former Member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ayuba Umar, made a legal move against Governor Abdullahi A. Sule sometime in June 2021 over failure to comply with OATH OF OFFICE following accusations of misappropriation and theft of One Billion Naira by his predecessor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura which wasn’t given the expected attention by the one who sat after him.
While the desperate attempts to dampen the image of the State Governor proved abortive, Ayuba town-cried to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Human and Environmental Development Agenda (HEDA), the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) respectively in the quest to achieve his aim(s) by all means. Shame was the one thing that followed as the consulted bodies abruptly refused to comply.
Another attempt made was the involvement of attorneys to steal PRESENTABLE LIES which he may have termed EVIDENCE. Again and as usual, silence was the town crier’s reward.
Before the end of July 2021, Ayuba, out of aggression had written an online article which he titled: MANY SINS OF GOVERNOR SULES STEWARDSHIP WHICH CULMINATE IN CURRENT LABOUR CRISIS. In the article, baseless allegations ranging from Pension, Minimum Wage to Accountability and other aspects associated with government to the people were made. BASELESS because the righteous one could not indicate an iota of fact to substantiate the alleged sins of Governor Sule.
In crowing the article, Ayuba stated “Governor Sule did NOTHING!”, a statement usually made by loggerheads who are desperate about getting the attention of the public by all means.
The Collins Dictionary has it that “a town crier is a man whose job is to walk through the streets of a town shouting out news and official announcements.” Reverse is the case as Ayuba is “a town crier shouting in the street, raising allegations only to gain the ATTENTION which he expects will make him relevant to the people of Nasarawa State ahead of the 2023.”
Ayuba Umar is likely to either or not contest under the umbrella of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) as the caliber of aspirants in the PDP are no match for him – just as Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule of the APC and the APC itself is no match for any contestant and party.
It is pertinent for me to remind or re-educate the public that leadership is not a DO or DIE affair; why people should not become toxic in the course of it.
Accusing Engineer Sule of floating a “bogus” bank account to make up for the APC’s N50 million stipulation just because one cannot afford is rather speculative and appalling.
Leaders do not rant. Leaders do not raise unnecessary storms. Leaders do not paint others black to have themselves seen as white. An example of a true and worthy leader is Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule; the capacity builder, industrial revolutionist, the one already leading Nasarawa to limelight by attracting local and foreign investors to bring about rapid impact, growth and development.
Canaan in the Bible depicts “Promised Land.” In other words, 4 plus 4 equals the PROMISED LAND and is directly proportional to a BETTER NASARAWA.
Whenever anyone asks “who is the noisemaker?” the chorus should sound as good as “Up NEPA” and must be “Ayuba Umar.”
