Nasarawa State governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has again resued victims of a multiple accident involving five vehicles that occurred around the Ende Hills, along the Lafia/Akwanga road, early Saturday.
Engineer Sule, who is enroute Akwanga to pay condolence visit at the family home of the late former minister, Alhaji Hussaini Zanuwa Akwanga, halted his convoy to offer assistance to the victims of the crash.
Eleven persons were confirmed dead, while eight others were rescued and rushed to the Akwanga general hospital.
Engineer Sule came down from his official vehicle to inspect the scene of the accident, directing members of his convoy to rescue the victims of the accident.
The governor ordered his ambulance and some security personnel to evacuate both the injured and dead bodies to be conveyed to the Akwanga general hospital.
The vehicles were said to be involved in the accident, following attempts to escape an oncoming trailer said to have lost control.
In Akwanga, the governor condoled with the family of the late Mr. Akwanga, the Chun Mada, HRH Samson Gamu Yare, the Sarkin Gudi, HRH Alhaji Sule Bawa, a close friend of the deceased and people of the state, over the loss of the illustrious son, teacher and technocrat.
He prayed for Allah to grant the late minister Jannatul Firdaus.
