Burna Boy’s Twice as Tall album got the Best Global Music Album Award while Wizkid won the best video Award through his collaboration with Beyonce on Brown Skin Girl. Congratulations to the amazing talented entertainers. At least, Nigeria is in the news for good.
However, Southern Kaduna has talented youths in different spheres. Many are not lazy and are well educated. What they need is support. A good number of our youths are into singing, music/video production and other entertainment-related skills. All they need is support to make them grow bigger than what they are at the moment.
I hope to see a situation where our influencial people will come up with a talent hunt show in Southern Kaduna where youths can get a formidable platform to showcase their talents. This is capable of keeping a good number of our youths off the street.
To the youths, avoid looking down on our elders. They have blessings to give us even if they don’t have the resources to lift us. Our elites who have the means and ‘connection’ should please be of help. The high rate of drug addiction and other criminalities can be mitigated when our youths are gainfully engaged.
Our youthful population should be properly managed by all the relevant stakeholders. Doing so is capable of making our area a vibrant breeding ground for talents which is capable of redefining our sphere of influence.
We need a paradigm shift or think out of the box in order to set an agenda that will spring up hidden talents. May God help us.
