The executive Chairman Jema’a Local Government Hon Peter Danjuma Averik has called on Christian and other religious bodies in the area to continue to propagate the message of peace and to contribute meaningfully towards the development of the area.
The Chairman said this in his message to the Leadership of Southern Kaduna Baptist Conference who were in his office for a familiarisation visit on Wednesday.
Hon Averik commended the existing cordial relationship between his Council and southern Kaduna Baptist Conference noting that the developmental successes recorded by his Council within its two years in office would not have been possible without the cooperation and prayers of the church and other well wishers.
He again lauded the landmark strides of southern Kaduna Baptist Conference in Jema’a Local Government especially in the areas of education and health and promised his Council’s continued support to the conference.
The chairman used the occasion to congratulate Reverend Donald Yohanna Arak for his deserved election as President, Southern Kaduna Baptist Conference and advised him to consider the mandate as a call from God and to serve the church diligently to justify the trust reposed on him by the southern Kaduna Baptist family.
Also speaking, the speaker Legislative Council, Jema’a Local Government area, Hon Husseini Dogara appreciated the leadership of the southern Kaduna Baptist Conference for the visit and promised them the council’s legislative support to enable them successfully execute their plans for the church.
Earlier, the new president southern Kaduna Baptist Conference Reverend Dr. Donald Yohanna Arak said they were in the local government to identify with the council and to promised their unflinching support to the quest for peace, unity and development of Jema’a Local Government in particular and southern Kaduna in general.
Reverend Arak noted that southern Kaduna Baptist Conference has been contributing a lot to the development of the Jema’a local government and assured the chairman of their continued cooperation and prayers to enable the Council succeed.
