What is your name and where are you from?
Thank you,I am Ohiorenoya Israel Jude by name, am from Ake, owan east local government in Edo state.
What is your stage name?
My stage name is Jay khiszy
Have you been or are you still any under record label?
Actually, am not currently under any Label for now but am under an entertainment crew owned by one of our famous street Conner Artist Flex b(The umbele master).Here,Am assigned to a personal manager Who packages me as an artist. So currently am very much opened to any good Label out there. Thanks
What first got you into Music? and kindly brief us on your musical backgrounds up till date
Well, I would say, Music has been in me even right from childhood,I had started singing, writing and composing songs since when I was very much younger and music has always been my thing from the scratch.Even in my school days,I’ll always go from one extra curriculum activities to do some freestyles to entertain my fellow students in our school clubs back then,so music has been in me right from time,I call it my passion. But officially I came out with my 1st debute titled:- “I don port” in the year 2015, and after that, I came up with two other tracks “celebrate and Ama Millionaire”. These tracks was later packed to be like a Demo Playlist Album then,which I even ended up doing the launching at ” Marvel Hotel & suites” on the 9th of April 2015.These was were my waves started musically, I started getting interviews both on Nija Fm,free full page publicities & interviews on Champions Newspaper and so on.Then I was answering “Judexkey Xeiries” as my musical Name, I think it still recognized by Google up till date.2017, I stumbled across a New big Label then, who loved my musical spirit and wished to signed me without delay,but wen I had to take the sample of the record deals I was been offered to my personal Lawyer, I found out it wasn’t a fair one so I had to decline the deal then, but though, we were so quick enough on working on a new short and simple stage name for myself together “Jay khiszy”.I continued my musical hustle Alone,doing and dropping more songs for my fans,killing shows,and creating more Fanbase for myself. In the year 2018, I came across our popular Umbele crooner celebrity,” Flex b” I was opportuned to meet him through my old time manager then at the island who happens to be a friend to him,so we met and we started doing things together till I decided to have him featured on one of my hugest end of the year Concert back then at Igando which he came and shuted down,that was when people started feeling I was up to something.
In the year 2019,he placed me under him and managed me as his artist,which was a very big shot for me,there I had the chance of mingling, meeting and working with lot of Nigeria popular top celebrities for the first time in my career, and had even successfully recorded an Ep Album late last year which I had to extend to this year before dropping.Last year was crowned up for me With a rebranding concert at cool tavern relaxation center at Igando all the way from the island, which I felt It was a must to run the show in the hood I started from “Igando” and we had Flex b also featured alongside other arts which made the show a memorable one.
If you didn’t become a musician, what would you be doing right now?
Lol, I guess I would had been a computer instructor.
I actually have a Diploma in computing certificate which I was using to work in different schools and computer institute back then.
Who or what inspired you to make Music?
You know, I use to feel if good musics are meant to be listened to,then someone how to make one,that’s why I had never forced myself to sing or compose a track.
well, l actually aside God’s inspirations, I think Nature do,Everything around me do, even the street lifestyles do,that’s why sometimes, I love going to some rough areas to observe ,I have gotten lot of inspirations there too.
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
well actually am a versatile artist, I have the capability of adapting to any genre of music but basically I do Afropop
And believe me when I say my songs are always worth hearing cause I mostly love singing songs with good contents and meaningful messages
Do you find music difficult?
Never, music is never a difficult task to the gifted ones like us, we dream music, we breath music and we deliver music.
But on the other hand music is very challenging sometimes but you know, Nothing good comes easy, There’s always a light at the end of each tunnel.
Do you face challenges releasing your singles?
Wow,very well,most especially we artist that don’t have that big name yet,some bloggers will eat from u, pass u on to medias,Radio stations and Tv stations will now finish you up with their prices,imagine they might ask u to pay up to 100k to them just to get your song Aired,imagine??
Do you think you have enough fans as people are saying?
Well,actually I appreciate the ones I have for now but to me I haven’t even started yet,i having a dream of beating down even Wizkid or Davido in terms of Fanbase by God’s grace, so I’ll say Not yet.
Which do you feel is the best song you have ever released and why?
Well I feel all the tracks in this my Playlist ( Ep ) is gonna be the best ever, cause I had been able to work with some celebrities on this one in the persons of:- Flex b (The umbele crooner master) one of our rugged best female veteran rapper “mizz kizz” and a very fast rising super star in south Africa “Shuzz Montana”. So u see I think this is gonna be the best ever!! And of course I just shot a viral video for ORDOR, track 3 on my play list and its dropping soon
Who have you always dreamt of working with and why?
Well I have always dreamt of working with Kizz Daniel and Davido, they have been my mentor you know.
Which musician would u like to collaborate with next?
I wish to collaborate with any of these top bosses there (any celebrity that appreciate my good work,I won’t mind
As you are starting out your career in the music industry what steps do you plan on taking to reach your goal?
Well,my plans is just to always take the right steps to get me to my destinations.Work more with top stars both within Nigeria and outside, project myself and my brand more for people to love and so on.
From your experience so far, what have you found to be most challenging? And how are you dealing with it?
Well the most challenging of all is trying to satisfy ur fanz so they won’t complan,Lol, that’s very difficult I swear,sometimes when they drop a comments on ur posts on social medias,each one of them would like you to reply,they’ll always like u to be online 24/7 to chat nd respond their messages and if u slack for a second,you’ll hear “No mind am, E don de form” Lol, well am trying my best to work it out though
From your experience in the entertainment industry what advice could you offer people looking to get where you are today?
Well so far so good, the only advice I can render to them is “keep up doing what you know how to do best” Roam wasn’t built in a day,be positive, people will tell u you ain’t good enough but don’t let that weigh you down and nevertheless, put God 1st in everything you do “Music is a Spiritual battle” only the strong fights it.
Apart from music, do you have any hidden talents?
Wow lol, actually, I am a multi talented person, Aside music, I act,I model and I do a bit of dance.
