Remember her? Goodness Thomas, the Gbaygi girl from Niger State, whose story broke the internet last week after being denied admission by Ahmadu Bello University Zaria despite scoring over 300 in her JAMB, has been offered a full time scholarship to study Medicine and Surgery at the Igbinedion University.
The story of the 16-year-old which went viral drew a lot of criticism and condemnation by Nigerians with several questions being asked.
A Facebook user, John Aderogba confirmed that relieve came to the girl after the attention of Igbinedion University was drawn to the story.
“LUCKY GOODNESS THOMAS*
I am pleased to inform us that our *Goodness Thomas*, who was denied admission into ABU Zaria has been offered admission at Igbinedion University to study Medicine and Surgery on FULL SCHOLARSHIP.
Other offers are still on the table for her and her family to choose. God’s ways are mysterious, you cannot understand this God. ABU Zaria thought they were hurting Goodness but God only used the institution to project her into limelight.
Special thanks to all those who kept faith and supported all through. Your likes, shares and comments on social media made the difference. Earlier today, NTA Abuja called for the possibility of interviewing Goodness.
Finally, we all must speak up against any and every form of injustice. 16 year old Goodness Thomas is now excited because we all spoke up.
Nigerians, be proud of what you did for her.
