In the early hours of Tuesday morning; some students of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi Gubi Campus were reportedly injured while some lost their lives.
The ugly incident occurred within the hours of 12:30am and 1:00am on Tuesday. This was caused as a result of the bridge failure that connect the students hostel and the school premises. The students were said to have been returning from their classrooms where they were reading in preparation for their exams which started a week ago. It was added that the collapsed metal bridge was in a bad state and there was not any effort by the school to build a befitting bridge especially during this raining season.
Some of the victims and deceased belongings like phones, bags, handouts and so on were found at the bank of the stream.
Some bodies are yet to be recovered while the survivals are still battling with their lives in the hospital.
Presently exams are been put on hold as students were said to had protest.
