Many villagers from Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State have abandoned their houses and farm lands due to attacks by armed bandits in their neighbourhood.
It was gathered that they fled from Kamfanin Doka, Goron Dutse, Irirori, Layin Mai Gwari and Kungi villages to Birnin Gwari town.
One of the community leaders said: “Our people are being killed daily, some are kidnapped daily, including our wives and daughters by these bandits. This is why the people had to flee their villages to run away from the bandits who attacked them at will.
“These bandits are mobile and they move freely from one village to another to attack people. The same bandits that killed about 15 people last week Monday at Damari village are same people attacking other villages” he said.
The spokesman of the state police command, Yakubu Sabo, declined comment on the issue.
