The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris has been ordered by the Senate to immediately reinstate the security aides of Anambra state Governor, Willie Obiano.
On Wednesday, members of the Senate took turns to lambast the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, for withdrawing security personnel attached to Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Willie Obiano.
Speaking under Order 53, Senator Olujimi stated that “it was wrong for the Inspector-General of Police to withdraw the security aides of a sitting Governor.”
Giving the order for Obiano’s security aides to be restored, Senate President Bukola Saraki said: “that the IG should restore the security aides of the Governor as he needs to do the right thing to protect the democracy of the nation.”
The Senate, therefore, asked Chairman of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs to ensure that Obiano’s security aides were reinstated by Thursday.
