According to a video from TMZ, Savage’s family arrived to Kelly’s Atlanta residence on Tuesday (August 29) with police in tow. Timothy Savage, her father, spearheaded the surprise visit following reluctance from both his daughter and Kelly for a face-to-face meeting. Joycelyn’s sister also appears in the video as the family records their arrival to the home.
“We’re in front of R. Kelly’s house,” he says in the clip. “We’re trying to check on our daughter, Joycelyn Savage. And we’re going to do what we have to do to make sure she’s fine.”
Joycelyn’s sister cosigns his statements, asserting that they need to check for physical signs of abuse on her also. However, TMZ further reported that a woman who is allegedly affiliated with the singer answered the door to police and claimed Joycelyn wasn’t there. Whether Kelly was home or not is still unclear, TMZ added, but police still found a way to speak with the 21-year-old via FaceTime. Unfortunately for her family, Joycelyn reportedly echoed her previous stance: she’s doing OK and she’s not interested in speaking to any of them.
Hopefully, she and her family can make amends for their sake of peace in the near future.
