A Bayern Munich win on Saturday would see the Bavarians lock up the Bundesliga for a record fifth straight year and also the 26th Bundesliga title. And they did more than win — they wiped the floor with their opponent.
Bayern crushed Wolfsburg 6-0 on the road to win the league crown.
It was this David Alaba free kick in the first half that served as the winning goal.
Just dominant.
Here’s the table with Bayern 10-points clear, a number that can’t be reached with just three matches remaining. And how about that 62 goal differential? Again, it’s Bayern and then everybody else.
Of course, in the end, Bayern won’t be overly thrilled with this season. The team was knocked out of the Champions League in the quarterfinals by Real Madrid and then lost at home midweek in the German Cup semifinals against Borussia Dortmund.
They’ll take the league crown, but more was expected in 2017.
